PEOPLE

People give you a hard time when external image contradicts inner Truth,

When the potency of false rumors rivals the strongest vermouth,

When the vicious instinct in folks takes precedence over all,

When they see “perfection” embodied that they simply must topple and fall.

People give you a hard time when you apply yourself differently,

When the effortful energy you spend is not applied apparently,

When the face the world carries is not the one that you own,

When the strange fruit that you bear come from the seeds you have sewn,

You gave me a hard time because I lost my inertia,

Just for a moment, I rounded the square,

Reality fades when you lean in quite closely,

The patterns may add up, but nothing is fair…
